deep in the forest
big bucks lie motionless
facing the wind

autumn rain
a buck's brown eyes
fill the quadrants of my scope

in the crosshairs
above the buck's shoulder
a butterfly touching down

jt,
seriously, your poems over the past three months have been very
impressive. i don't mean this in
a patronizing way. i know i've
suggested that you send these out to be published. better yet, i
think you should put some kind of
book together, and leave them or
sell them in various northwoods bars from upstate n.y. to the u.p.
to the wisconsin grouse grounds, and every other place you hunt.
your poems get better and better
all the time.

jt,
don't want to make you sick of
all these compliments, but i just
read your "all of a sudden" poem
on the falling leaves site. damned
good & damned good to see this
versatility.

with every falling leaf
a memory of mother

Levon, all I can say is thank you for the kind words. I have to admit that your regular reading has been a big factor in whether a haiku passes the "Levon test" or not. :-) You've definitely pushed me to try to make each one as good as I can make them, at least on time for the blog's dailyness. If and when I get a few more good ones stored up, maybe I'll think about collecting them. anyway. thanks.
Jim

and ps. the offer as always still stands! :-)
