jim,
came up with this today, before
i visited hunting haiku. i think
it's a great companion piece to
your poem. maybe we hunters just
think alike.

Levon,
nice one, really nice. I actually wrote a thesis on the topic of the philosophy/morality of hunting, where I developed the idea of "tragic wisdom" that comes from reflecting about hunting. The wisdom (so I theorized) was accompanied by something I called tragic remorse, which is characterized by a sense of regret or ambivalence about having killed. whew. kind of high brow stuff when I put it that way but it made sense to me when I wrote it. :-) I've got an article on it as well, if you were ever interested in seeing it. Anyway. thanks again for reading, and thanks for another good one.
Jim
