These are wonderful!
Some of your latest haiku would work really well with some images to make dynamite haiga.
Nice Jim!
thanks guys. Aurora, I'd gladly welcome any suggestions for images you might make .... sounds like it's time for me to start thinking about going digital. :-) Scanning 35mm film prints can get old after a while.
Jim, the best haiga are the simplest. Have a look at Polona's blog to see what I'm talking about:

I think she's marvellous.
If you could get some photos with "dead space" - you know, room in which to type in your haiku - you'd have the makings of a haiga. You don't need to have the image and words perfectly "match". In fact, the best haiga are those in which the words and image are not obviously connected.
I look forward to seeing what you'll come up with.:)
well, there's a half-hearted attempt at a haiga at grousers, more to re-acquaint myself with Photoshop than anything. :-)
(I have to admit some ambivalence about haiga, although it's hard to say why. I like the 'cleanliness' of haiku, if that's the right word. Or perhaps 'simplicity' is better. There's a part of me that thinks the haiku should stand on its own ... but that's probably part-ignorance on my part and part haiku snobbery. :-) guess I'll just have to play with some to see if I like it.)
well, the "gut hook haiga" was more half-assed than half-hearted ... trying to be funny I suppose. I got the joke anyway. :-) I'll start trying to think about photos for real. I appreciate the encouraging words, Aurora.
